For the purposes of this introduction, the title is designed to be a little ambiguous. You can take it one of two ways. Or you can ignore it and divert your attention to something more exciting.
I DON’T GET OUT MUCH is a statement of fact. As a freelance writer who works from home, I spend far too much time self-isolating in an attic on the edge of Dartmoor, wearing away the letter ‘A’ on my MacBook keyboard. It’s just the ’A’ – the other letters are fine. MAke of thAt whAt you will.
I DON’T GET OUT MUCH is also the name of this blog. It’s a deliberately vague name for a website that will provide a home for my non-automotive writing and random thoughts.
If 2020 has taught me one thing, it’s that I enjoy writing, and not just writing about cars. I’m a freelance motoring writer by trade, but the lockdown has allowed me to explore other things.
I’ve got no idea if I’ll update it daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly. I don’t even know if it will make it beyond the end of the year. It all depends on whether or not my limited talent makes it beyond the realms of the car world.
When I Do Get Out
The plan is to create a YouTube channel where I’ll share my love of the more obscure ‘tourist’ destinations. Forget beauty spots, castles and gardens, my channel will visit derelict buildings, old roads and historical sites of varying degrees of significance.
In the meantime, a big thank you to the talented Mr Roy McCarthy for creating the I DON’T GET OUT MUCH logo. He’s not Tom Jones, but you should send him your briefs.
For now, I’ll end with a short paragraph that takes me to the minimum of 300 words for SEO purposes.
